| Introduction |
Polyvinylpyrrolidone is a non-ionic polymer compound. Its chemical name is polyvinylpyrrolidone, abbreviated as PVP in English. Polyvinylpyrrolidone is a white to light brownish yellow, easily flowing amorphous powder with no odor, strong swelling properties, and the ability to complex with various substances. It is insoluble in water, alkali, acid, and commonly used organic solvents, but soluble in water and aqueous chlorinated solvents, ethanol, amines, nitroalkanes, and low molecular weight fatty acids. It is compatible with most inorganic salts and various resins, and insoluble in acetone and ether. |

1. Clarifier; Pigment stabilizer; Colloidal stabilizer. Mainly used for clarification and quality stability of beer (reference dosage 8-20g/100L, maintained for 24 hours and filtered out). It can also be used in combination with enzymes and protein adsorbents. Also used as a stabilizer for clarifying wine and preventing discoloration (reference dosage 24-72g/100L). 2. Widely used as a thickener, emulsifier, lubricant, and clarifying agent, as well as a complex of disinfectant PVP-I. 3. Medical, aquaculture, and livestock disinfectants. Used for disinfection of skin and mucous membranes. 4. In daily cosmetics, PVP and copolymers have good dispersibility and film forming property, and can be used as setting liquid, setting agent of hair spray and mousse, shading agent of hair conditioner, foam stabilizer of shampoo, wave setting agent, dispersant and affinity agent of hair dye. Adding PVP to Snow Chemicalbook Flower Cream, Sunscreen, and Hair Removal Agent can enhance moisturizing and lubricating effects. The excellent surface activity, film-forming properties, and non irritating and non allergic reactions of PVP have broad prospects for application in hair care products, skincare products, and other fields. |

Food processing: PVP can form complexes with specific polyphenolic compounds, serving as a clarifying agent and stabilizer in food processing, and is used in beer, fruit juice, wine, etc. Daily cosmetics: Because PVP has extremely low toxicity and physiological inertia, it is used as a setting agent, a sunscreen for hair care, and a foam stabilizer for shampoo in cosmetics. Detergent: PVP has anti dirt and anti sedimentation properties and can be used in detergents to enhance cleansing ability and prevent skin irritation caused by detergents. Coatings and pigments: Coatings and paints coated with PVP form transparent films, improving gloss and dispersibility, and enhancing thermal stability. Polymer technology: As a polymer surfactant, it is used as a dispersant, emulsifier, thickener, etc. in dispersion systems. Other applications: PVP is also used as a gelling agent for tertiary oil recovery, an additive for photosensitive materials, and a thickener in polymer polymerization processes. |
