Introduction |
Ascorbic acid glucoside, scientific name O-a-D-glucopyranosyl-L-ascorbic acid (abbreviated as AA-2G), is a derivative of vitamin C with a relative molecular weight of 33 and a melting point of 158.5-159.5 ºC. Due to the poor stability and susceptibility to oxidation of VC, a substitute product for VC, ascorbic acid glucoside, has been derived. It can replace VC as an acidifier, reducing agent, antioxidant, bleaching agent, and stabilizer, and is widely used in cosmetics, food, and medicine. |
Function |
Antioxidant effect: Ascorbic acid glucoside can neutralize free radicals, reduce oxidative reactions, prevent skin aging, and has a certain effect on anti-aging. Whitening effect: It can inhibit the synthesis of melanin, reduce melanin deposition, and achieve whitening effect. Anti inflammatory effect: Ascorbic acid glucoside can inhibit inflammatory reactions and has a certain relieving effect on symptoms such as redness, swelling, and itching of the skin. Moisturizing effect: It can enhance the skin's moisturizing ability and improve dry skin. Resist UV damage: After converting ascorbate glucoside into vitamin C, it can reduce the free radicals generated by UV radiation on the skin, significantly reducing skin damage and playing a protective role in sunscreen products. Promoting collagen synthesis: After ascorbic acid glucoside is converted into vitamin C and enters skin cells, it can promote collagen synthesis, improve wrinkles and skin roughness, and play a significant role in maintaining skin elasticity and preventing wrinkles. |
Application |
Cosmetics industry: As a derivative of vitamin C, Ascorbyl glucoside is used in cosmetics as a brightening and whitening agent, with antioxidant, brightening skin tone, inhibiting melanin formation, promoting collagen synthesis and other effects. It is used in whitening, anti-aging and sunscreen products. Food additive: Ascorbyl glucoside is used as an additive in the food industry, which has antioxidant properties and helps maintain the freshness and nutritional value of food. In the pharmaceutical industry: Ascorbyl glucoside is used to reduce blood clots and inflammatory complications, and may have the potential to promote health and treat certain conditions. Skin care: As an antioxidant, Ascorbyl glucoside neutralizes free radicals that cause skin damage, inhibits pigment production, helps fade and prevent dark spots, promotes collagen production, and is suitable for all skin types, especially for consumers seeking to brighten skin tone, enhance skin radiance, and resist signs of aging. Personal care products: In addition to cosmetics, Ascorbyl glucoside may also be used in other personal care products to provide antioxidant and skin protective properties. |
