Pueraria P.E Kudzu Root Extract has been known for Chinese medicine as Ge Gen, pueraria is used in prescriptions for the treatment of thirst, headache, and stiff neck with pain due to high blood pressure. Puerarin is also used in modern Chinese medicine as a treatment for angina pectoris.
Pueraria P.E Kudzu Root Extract has is primarily, grown for pasture, hay, and silage. It is palatable to all types of livestock. Kudzu is nearly equal to alfalfa in nutritive value. Leaves, shoots and roots are eaten by some humans. Useful fiber is obtained from stems, and starch is obtained from the tuberous root (roots up to 35 kg each). In China and Japan Ko-fen flour, made from the roots, is used in soups. Said to be cultivated for its tuber in the uplands of New Guinea and New Caledonia. Used for erosion control and soil improvement on banks, slopes and gullies where a permanent planting is desired. It is used as shade, planted around buildings.

1.Whitening
Puerarin can effectively inhibit catalytic activity of tyrosinase. It interrupts oxidation process of melanin, and inhibits occurrence and formation of melanin. Moreover, Puerarin has certain ability of ultraviolet absorption, so it can prevent pigment deposition including chloasma and sunburn. Thereby, Puerarin exerts its whitening and freckle effect.
2.Anti-oxidation
Structurally, Puerarin contains two phenolic hydroxyl groups. It is a isoflavone compound. This is the structural basis on which Puerarin has activity of scavenging oxygen free radicals. Puerarin can significantly inhibit RBC hemolysis caused by oxidative damage; also it inhibits peroxidation caused by reactive oxygen species. Additionally, Puerarin improves SOD activity in vivo; and it regulates the balance between oxygen free radical and free radical scavenger in the body. Experimental study has also shown that Puerarin can clear superoxide anion and ·OH. It exhibits certain antioxidant and anti-aging effect.
