| The product is white crystalline powder, easily soluble in water, with no irritating odor, weakly acidic in aqueous solution, stable in nature, and rarely affected by the concentration, temperature, ionic composition, or salt composition of the culture medium. HEPES is widely used as a biological buffer in biochemical diagnostic kits, DNA and RNA extraction kits, and PCR diagnostic kits; it has no toxic effect on cells; it can maintain a constant pH value in open culture or cell observation; the concentration used is generally 10~50 mmol/L, and 20 mmol/L can achieve buffering capacity. In addition, it should be noted that HEPES does not supply nutrients to the cells. It should only be added to the medium to enhance buffering capacity if cells are to be treated outside the CO2 incubator for an extended period of time during the cell culture process. |
