| Mycophenolic acid (MPA) is an active component of mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) metabolized in the body. It is a potent non competitive inhibitor of hypoxanthine nucleotide dehydrogenase (IMPDH), which can selectively inhibit the proliferation of lymphocytes, inhibit the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes stimulated by mitogen and alloantigens, and also inhibit the generation of antibodies by B lymphocytes Therefore, MPA has good antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial, anti-tumor, and immunosuppressive activities; Commonly used in the treatment of rejection of heart and kidney transplantation and immune diseases such as lupus nephritis and vasculitis. |

| Mycophenolic acid has antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial, anti-tumor, and immunosuppressive activities. The immune response depends on the proliferation ability of lymphocytes. Biological cells proliferate through mitosis. The therapeutic dose of mycophenolic acid does not inhibit polysaccharide activation of human peripheral blood lymphocytes to produce interleukin-I. In addition, mycophenolic acid mediated depletion of guanosine triphosphate in vitro lymphocytes can inhibit the conversion of mannose and fucose into glycoproteins. Through this mechanism, mycophenolic acid can reduce the aggregation of lymphocytes and monocytes in the site of chronic inflammation. |
