| Introduction |
| Salicin is an organic substance with the chemical formula C13H18O7. It is a colorless crystal or white powder, soluble in water and easily soluble in boiling water. It is widely present in the bark and leaves of several Salix and Populus species. Salicin has antipyretic and analgesic effects and was used in the treatment of rheumatism in the past, but has now been replaced by other drugs.
