Introduction
Myristic acid is a common fatty acid that is found in both plant oils and animal fats. It is also known as tetradecanoic acid. It is so named because it is a chain of 14 carbon molecules with a CH3 group at one end and a COOH group at the other.
Fuction
It is an anti-wrinkle peptide. Synthetically produced and considered to be highly effective, clinical studies indicate it can reduce the depth of existing wrinkles. May be incorporated into products marketed as having a topical-BoToX. or "wrinkle-erasing" effect. 
Application
Myristic acid is used to make soap, detergent, perfume, surfactant, etc. Myristic acid is prepared by fractionating the fatty acids of coconut oil.
