Introduction |
Paeoniflorin is a bitter glycoside of pinene monoterpene isolated from traditional Chinese medicine Paeonia lactiflora and Paeonia lactiflora. It is a component extracted from the roots of peony plants such as peony, peony, and purple peony in the Ranunculaceae family. Paeoniflorin is one of the active ingredients of Total glucosides of Paeonia (TGP). TGP is derived from the dried roots of Paeonia lactiflora, a plant in the Ranunculaceae family. It is a brownish yellow dry powder with a bitter, sour, astringent taste and is easily hygroscopic. The total glycosides of Paeonia lactiflora contain various components, such as hydroxyl paeoniflorin, paeoniflorin, albiflorin, benzoyl paeoniflorin, etc., which together form the pharmacological basis of the total glycosides of Paeonia lactiflora.

Function |
Protecting cardiovascular and cerebrovascular systems: Paeoniflorin has a protective effect on the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular system, which can alleviate ischemic brain injury, reduce brain water content, increase local blood flow to the brain, and improve blood-brain barrier permeability. Analgesic effect: Paeoniflorin is considered a common component of the analgesic effects of Paeonia lactiflora and Paeonia lactiflora. It may achieve analgesic effects by reducing prostaglandin E2 levels, decreasing the sensitivity of pain receptors, and increasing β - endorphin levels to inhibit the excitation of pain receptors. Spasmodic effect: Paeoniflorin exerts its antispasmodic effect by inhibiting parasympathetic nerve excitation, reducing smooth muscle tone, and decreasing intracellular calcium ion influx. Antidepressant effect: Paeoniflorin exhibits antidepressant properties and may counteract depression in rats by increasing the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factors in the hippocampus. Antioxidant effect: Paeoniflorin has antioxidant properties, which can inhibit oxidative stress, improve mitochondrial function, enhance antioxidant function, and inhibit or activate related signaling pathways. Blood tonifying effect: Paeoniflorin has a blood tonifying effect on radiation-induced blood deficiency mice. By intervening in bone marrow protein expression, it promotes the proliferation and differentiation of bone marrow hematopoietic stem cells, achieving a blood tonifying effect. Neuroprotective effect: Paeoniflorin has neuroprotective effects, promoting neuroprotection, increasing neurotrophic factor levels, and inhibiting inflammatory responses. Antiarrhythmic effect: Paeoniflorin exhibits potential for antiarrhythmic effects by regulating calcium ion channels |
